I had a wonderful time driving through California's Gold Country on my way to photograph a 50+ year member of the Free Masons, Gail Wills, at Lodge 98 which is located in the small town of Hornitos, CA. The lodge is the smallest lodge of the roughly 320 lodges in California. I have long been fascinated by private clubs which were a common part of everyday life back in the day. I felt like I was photographing in a space that will not exist much longer and it was amazing.
