I recently spent the afternoon photographing Janet Wallach for her latest Doubleday Books release about the extraordinary life of businesswoman and Wall Street powerhouse, Hetty Green (The Richest Woman in America: Hetty Green in the Gilded Age), who in 1916 was worth $100 million dollars, which today is equal to about 2.5 billion. Wallach has made a career out of telling the stories of fascinating historical women who changed the world.
